Photographer Bert Nienhuis made many portraits of well-known Dutch personalities and international celebrities for the weekly magazine Vrij Nederland. This first retrospective featured both photos and Nienhuis’ reportages on, amongst others, life in Amsterdam’s popular neighbourhoods and unemployment, and his series about the daily lives of Jews in the Netherlands. The design and composition took place in close collaboration with Bert Nienhuis and Bernadette van Woerkom, the photography curator at the JHM.We were responsible for the catalogue and the accompanying print work
